It's time to be selfLESS

Hey guys! We haven't posted on here in a longgg time, so I figure it's about time one of us does. ;)

I think it's time we all open our eyes to the world around us... we need to take of the blinders. There are so many kids and adults in other countries who need us. They need our help. They need our help providing food and shelter/clothing for their families... they need our prayers, and they need our GOD.

Next time we're given the opportunity to donate to a ministry benefiting someone other than ourselves, we need to do it. Even if it involves sacrificing something that we want. It's not necessarily our job to support these countries financially, but providing NECESSITIES to these people, opens the door for missions. I'm not saying you ALWAYS have to sacrifice your extra money... you should definitely buy some of the things that you want... but we need to find a balance between being selfish and giving all that we have to missions.

So what are you doing to do next time you have some spare money? Buy yourself that cute pair of heels, that handbag, or that CD? Or will you put yourself aside just ONCE to help open up someone's heart to Jesus?

  1. I definitely agree with ya Julie! This generation, well every generation really, are so greedy and spoiled. It's tough economically I understand, but like you said, there are so many people out there who need our help! I had always heard of Compassion International and always wanted to join it, but I never did. Until one day something clicked and I signed up. For $38 a month I'm sponsoring a little boy from Columbia. Yesterday as a friend and I were pulling up to a red light we saw a woman standing there with a sign. She was a single mom with no job, my heart broke for her. I handed my friend $5 to give to her. I wish I could've given her more though...
